March 03, 2021BERLIN On the evening of Thursday, Feb. 26, the staff and board of directors of Coös County Family Health gathered online to recognize the milestone anniversaries and outstanding performance of staff during the past year.
Family Health is the main provider of primary medical care in the Androscoggin Valley region, and has served the community for more than 46 years. During the past year, agency staff have worked closely with health and social service providers throughout the region to ensure the community s needs were met during the Covid-19 pandemic.
After introductory remarks by Board President, H. Guy Stever, and Chief Executive Officer, Ken Gordon, several staff were recognized for their outstanding achievements. ....

PEORIA — In a historic moment, health care workers in Chicago and Peoria on Tuesday became the first groups in Illinois to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, marking what Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike called “the beginning of the end” of the pandemic.
The vaccine, developed by the drug companies Pfizer and BioNTech, was granted Emergency Use Authorization by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration last week and is now being shipped throughout the United States. Early studies have shown that after two doses that are given 21 days apart, the vaccine is 95% effective in preventing the disease. ....
