Oakwood University Church will head back on the road to deliver bottled water to those in need, this time in Jackson, Mississippi. The volunteers will be leaving early Monday. The state s largest city has been without water for weeks due to the winter storms. The church along with the Drug Alternative Program and Breath of Life Television Ministries have at least two trucks loaded with cases of water that was collected from the community. Leaders say giving back goes beyond the four walls of their church.

(WAFF) - Oakwood University Church is collecting bottled water for our neighbors to the west on Friday. The bottled water collection will assist residents of Jackson, Mississippi. The largest city in Mississippi has not had consistent running water for nearly three weeks, and the city is under a boil water mandate. Visit the Oakwood University Church Family Life Center located at 5500 Adventist Blvd. in Huntsville from 9 a.m. until noon to make your bottled water donation.

Oakwood University Church Hosts Water Bottle Donation Drive for Texas

2 Min Read Published on: 02-25-2021 In response to the recent winter weather disaster in Texas, United States, the Oakwood University Church (OUC) and Breath of Life television ministry conducted a “water drive,” collecting more than 30,000 bottles of water as well as other essential items, including socks, undergarments, gently used clothing, feminine products, and cleaning supplies. The items traveled by truck on February 22, 2021, from Huntsville, Alabama, to the Houston, Texas area. The donated items were delivered to the World Harvest Seventh-day Adventist Church, a distribution site in Houston and a church where Carlton P. Byrd, current OUC senior pastor and speaker/director of Breath of Life, previously served as pastor. From there, the much-needed water was given to Houston residents, beginning at noon the following day.
