KLANG: Anxious patients and weary medical personnel at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR) were pleasantly surprised when Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba paid an unscheduled visit to the beleaguered institution. “He immediately made some calls to obtain the items that were needed at the hospital and spoke to doctors and patients to learn about the challenges they faced,’’ said Klang MP Charles Santiago who accompanied Dr Adham. Dr Adham spent about two hours to see for himself the conditions at the hospital. ....
KLANG: Many of the Covid-19 problems faced by Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR) have been solved through the Health Minister s surprise visit, says hospital director Dr Zulkarnian Mohd Rawi. Dr Zulkarnain said that Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba approved the need for beds, infrastructure and equipment on the spot when he visited HTAR on Thursday (July 29). “We are very thankful, said Dr Zulkarnain, who added that he accompanied Dr Adham to the UKM Specialist Children s Hospital at Bandar Tun Razak, Cheras after the latter s impromptu visit to HTAR. The minister had made arrangements for us to send Stages Three, Four and Five patients there for treatment to ease the congestion here.They can take up to 200 patients,” said Dr Zulkarnain. ....

Labuan Disaster Management Committee chairman Rithuan Ismail (pic) said its medical equipment and inflatable tents were being removed and that all these facilities, which belong to the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) and Mercy Malaysia, would be relocated to the peninsula for the purpose of handling the increasing cases there. “We must be thankful to the MinDef and Mercy Malaysia for helping us in the setting up of the Covid-19 field hospital here…the dismantling of the medical equipment and tents will be completed today, some medical equipment like X-ray machines (belonging to the Labuan Hospital) will remain in the premises,” he told Bernama. ....
