Donation match for The Mercy Mission House SIDNEY The Mercy Mission House Emergency Shelter is sharing that a donor is going to match $1 for $1 up to $50,000 between May 1 and Dec. 31, 2021. These matching dollars will help MMH reach its capital campaign goal of $1.3 million. The Father’s Table Foundation is the donor which will be matching donations. In addition to the $50,000 in matching dollars, they are also donating $50,000. The Father’s Table Foundation’s mission is “To glorify God by helping meet the immediate needs of women and children worldwide and equipping them to be able to meet their future needs.” ....
United Way awards $150,000 for emergency shelter Barr SIDNEY Scott Barr, president and CEO has shared, “The Shelby County United Way Board of Directors voted unanimously to award the Alpha Community Center and the Mercy Mission House $150,000 as a seed gift to start their capital campaign to bring emergency housing programming to Shelby County. The newly formed Mercy Mission House will become a partner agency of the Shelby County United Way once the funds are raised, construction completed, and shelter programming begins.” This $1.3 million project will create a men’s dorm, a women’s dorm, three family suites, and over flow capacity as needed, including a warming shelter. This project will relocate the Alpha Community Center, Holy Angels Soup Kitchen, Bridges Community Action and hold the new Mercy Mission House on one campus providing emergency shelter, soup kitchen meals, emergency food pantry, emergency rent and utility assistance, winter heat assistance, ....

The organization has raised 70% of the needed funds for the project. Part of those funds were used to purchase the property at 950 Childrens Home Road from the Full Gospel Church. While the purchase was finalized this month, the Full Gospel Church will continue to provide services from the current location for the next six months as they build their new church. Both buildings, the church and the fellowship hall were part of the purchase. ....
