FHUSD announces free COVID-19 testing


Fountain Hills Unified School District announced this week that it has partnered with Embry Women’s Health to provide free COVID-19 testing for the community. Testing is available for FHUSD staff and students, as well as members of the public.
This drive-through testing site is located in the Fountain Hills High School parking lot and is already open. The high school is located at 16100 E. Palisades Blvd. The site will be open Monday through Friday, 3 to 8 p.m., and throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday.
Those interested in having a free test will need to make an appointment beforehand and can do so by visiting embrywomenshealth.com/testing-blitz. The Fountain Hills site is one of 40 currently running in the state and all testing is free, regardless of insurance. The current test turnaround time is listed at three to five days. ....

MESA, Arizona Ten thousand Arizonans received notice Thursday that their COVID-19 test results could be late and that they should get retested.
Embry Women s Health confirms they sent the notice after learning a lab they used to process their tests experienced extreme unanticipated delays.
That s not the only frustration. With higher demand for testing, others going to sites across Arizona report longer wait times in line and fewer available time slots to go and get tested. ....

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - Arizona residents are on edge as coronavirus cases rise across the state. Now as many look to get tested before the holidays, one lab is struggling to keep up with the demand causing thousands to get tested again.
Raymond Embry, CEO of Embry Women’s Health, one of the biggest testing providers in the state, said a text message was sent out to those who got tested before Sunday, Dec. 20, and are still waiting for results. He said his company was processing about 3,000 tests per day in October but that number has risen to 18,000 in December. ....
