THE Amateur Swimming Association of TT (ASATT) has taken the decision not to send a team to the Central American and Caribbean Swimming Federation (CCCAN) 2021 meet in Puerto Rico scheduled for June 20-July 3.
The swimming portion of CCCAN will be held from June 20-June 27 and the open water segment from June 26-July 3. ....

The Unión Americana de Natation (UANA) along with the International Swimming Federation (FINA) is working on several developmental programs for athletes, coaches and technical officials especially those in the Caribbean region.
President of UANA Maureen Croes, the first female in the continent and the lone person from Aruba with the distinction of holding that position, says that they are working on further implementation of development programs to raise the level of aquatics in the region.
“Each national federation has the opportunity to request clinics and the facilitator is somebody that FINA assigns. It comes down to each federation making a choice as to what they want addressed. For example if Barbados right now is trying to work on developing the swimming programme, maybe they would request a clinic for coaching swimming. ....

For the second year in a row, the fiercely competitive CARIFTA Aquatics Championships has been put off. The announcement was made on Saturday in a communication from the host, the Barbados Aquatic Sports Association (BASA).
The Bahamas was set to take part in the swimming portion of the championships. The original date was set for April 3-7 at the Barbados Aquatics Center in Wildey, Barbados, but that was pushed back with no definitive date in sight. The Bahamas Aquatics Federation was set to send a strong swim team to defend their three-peat and get a chance to claim its sixth title in the last seven CARIFTA meets. Now, they will have to wait until 2022 for a chance to accomplish that. ....
