En su discurso durante la XIX Cumbre del Alba la agrupación de 8 países de América Latina y el Caribe que tienen gobiernos de extrema izquierda , Daniel Ortega dio a conocer su intención de sacar a Nicaragua de la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA). La XIX Cumbre del Alba se realizó en Caracas el jueves 24 de junio, de manera presencial, pero el dictador de Nicaragua participó por medio de videoconferencia.
Es evidente que Ortega está muy molesto con la OEA, porque esta ha venido reclamando con firmeza el cese de la violación a los derechos humanos en Nicaragua y el cumplimiento, por parte del Gobierno, de su obligación de celebrar elecciones libres y justas de acuerdo con lo establecido en la Carta Democrática Interamericana y en la misma Constitución Política nicaragüense. ....

PANAMA CITY, 19 April 2021 – Since the start of 2021, the number of migrant children reported in Mexico has increased sharply from 380 to nearly 3,500, announced Jean Gough, UNICEF Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, after wrapping up a 5-day visit to Mexico, including stops along its northern border with the United States. Currently, an average of 275 additional migrant children find themselves in Mexico every day, after being detected by the Mexican authorities, waiting to cross into the US or being returned, according to UNICEF estimates. ....

Young regional artists shine in CIBC FirstCaribbean’s Caribbean Children’s Art Competition
BRIDGETOWN, WILLEMSTAD - Scores of young artists across the region let loose their creative talents over the past few months with amazing results!
Close to 30 school-aged artists from nine territories showed off their abilities with paintbrush, pencil and mixed media in the CIBC FirstCaribbean Children’s Art Competition which ran from December 15 last year to January 15 this year.
“We were bowled over by the sheer talent and creativity of our young people from all across the region. The entries were all of a very high standard which speaks volumes about the quality of art education and appreciation in the region,” said the bank’s Chief Executive Officer Colette Delaney. ....
