She is facing allegations of trying to smuggle 6kg of gold at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport to Dubai her last year. She, however, denies the charges and insisting she mistakenly took the wrong handbag from her home. On the count of unlawful possession of the precious mineral, Rushwaya told the court that she is a holder of a valid gold licence and as such would want her gold back. ....

They are patients with their loved ones. Having traveled many miles, they brought camping tents, blankets, pots and pans. Some people cook and talk. Others sit on mats or on dirty cardboard boxes. For the days or weeks that they’re here awaiting treatment, this spot is home. Ndaizivei Makaza, a mother of five who lives in Mutoko, 290 kilometers (180 miles) away from the hospital, came because of continuous menstrual bleeding. After each long day of tests, she and her mother return to their cardboard box, where they relax with tea and bread. Makaza has been here almost a week. ....
Court to rule on Rushwaya accomplices’ bail application
TWO Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) agents arrested together with Henrietta Rushwaya, when she allegedly tried to smuggle 6kg of gold out of Zimbabwe, will know the result of their bail application next week. Regional magistrate Ngoni Nduna will next Wednesday deliver his ruling on the application brought by Stephen Tserai and Raphios Mufandauya. The secret service agents are accused of facilitating a safe passage for Rushwaya at RGM International Airport when alert scanner operators noticed that she was carrying gold in her hand luggage as she was about to board a plane to Dubai. ....
Rushwaya granted bail BY MIRIAM MANGWAYA SUSPENDED Zimbabwe Miners Federation president Henrietta Ruswaya, who is facing charges of attempting to smuggle 6 kg of gold worth $333 000 has been granted $100 000 bail on changed circumstances by Harare magistrate Ngoni Nduna. Rushwaya, who is being jointly charged with Pakistani businessman Ali Muhammad, Central Intelligence Organisation operatives Stephen Tserayi and Raphios Mufandauya and her ZMF colleague Gift Karanda, had been denied bail twice on the grounds that she was a flight risk and that she was likely to interfere with witnesses. Her alleged accomplice, Muhammad, was granted $100 000 bail last year. Rushwaya who was represented by lawyer Tapson Dvetero, then applied again for bail at the magistrates’ court on changed circumstances arguing that the heightened COVID-19 lockdown would make her attempt to abscond trial difficult as the borders have been shut. ....
