Three African women from Cameroon, Somalia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are among the 2021 International Women of Courage Award recipients announced by the U.S. Secretary of State late on Thursday.
Secretary Antony J. Blinken would be hosting the virtual award ceremony on March 8. The First Lady of the United States, Dr. Jill Biden will deliver remarks to recognize the courageous accomplishments of these women, the U.S. Department of State said.

The Biden administration said the award is to honor a group of extraordinary women from around the world, including an honorary award for seven women leaders and activists from Afghanistan who were assassinated for their dedication to improving the lives of Afghans. ....
