State to remove DOB, identifying information from online court records

A 2019 decision by the Michigan Supreme Court might make that job more challenging. Starting Jan. 1, 2022, personal information such as date of birth and driver s license numbers will not be visible to the public on online court records after revisions to Michigan court rules.  The revisions were adopted in May 2019 with an original rollout date of July 1, 2020.  The ruling s original rollout date was postponed to give courts time to update their systems.  More than two years ago, the Court approved revisions of court rules to protect PII; however, the Court decided today that an additional six months are needed to complete reprogramming of court computer systems and to enable courts and users to implement necessary revisions in their practices to accommodate the new rules, the Michigan Supreme Court Administrative Office said in a release.
