Las fechas de las fundaciones de los partidos comunistas en diferentes casos están rodeadas de imprecisiones históricas como es el caso del Partido Comunista Chino (PCCh). Cuando le preguntaron a Mao Zedong en qué fecha se celebró el Primer Congreso Fundacional, su respuesta fue además de imprecisa, curiosa en los detalles. Le comentó a quien lo entrevistaba que recordaba que era verano, hacía mucho calor porque usaba un abanico y era el mes de julio. Ante aquella imprecisión, en algún momento, el PCCh aprobó el día 1° de julio como la fecha fundacional convirtiéndose así en fecha histórica.
