Dominican government to reform Comptroller General s Office
Santo Domingo, Jan 7 (Prensa Latina) The Director of Government Ethics and Integrity of the Dominican Republic, Milagros Ortiz, announced on Thursday in this capital that the government will carry out a thorough review to reform the Comptroller General s Office.
At a press conference, Ortiz said that for the reform a commission of experts was created which must review and update the entire legal framework of that audit institution.
Likewise, she said, Understanding that the country cannot wait to approve a new regulation to promote the changes required in the Comptroller s Office, I instructed the Comptroller to appoint two officials to develop the Investigation and Anti-Fraud Division of the Comptroller s Office and to strengthen the function of special internal audits. ....
