The Matthew Greene no one knew: ‘Proud Boy’ Matthew J. Greene spent six years in the National Guard hunting and fighting terrorists. Then the Syracuse man became one, according to federal prosecutors. Greene, 33, has been charged with coordinating and leading the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. The man who had fought in the deserts of Afghanistan went to Washington, D.C., prepared for another war. Greene lived in two worlds that collided only when people learned of his arrest.

Syracuse, NY A Syracuse man who admitted firing a gun during the infamous Rye Day party last year will spend five years in prison.
Eric A. Williams, 37, was the first of 10 indicted defendants to plead guilty and be sentenced following the mayhem in June 2020.

Syracuse, N.Y. Chariel Osorio stood in front of his Near West Side home with a smile on his face and a diploma in his hands.
It was a sunny June day, and Osorio had just graduated from Corcoran High School. The 17-year-old boy, still clad in his shiny maroon graduation cap and gown, posed for a photo proudly showing off his new degree.
Six hours later, Osorio was shot in the head.
