Town’s youth commissioners persist through pandemic, dream up three big projects

NORTH PROVIDENCE – The past year for members of the North Providence Mayor’s Youth Commission has been one of distance, turmoil, and an upending of norms at a time of life when even normal circumstances can be unsettling.
But commissioners have persisted, says their adviser and North Providence Recreation Department employee Jeannie Vickers, setting an example of maturity that has astounded her again and again. Instead of just throwing in the towel, she told The North Providence Breeze, they’ve come up with “awesome projects” that will benefit the town and its young people. ....
