Vehicle catches fire, spreads to Kalamazoo residence file photo and last updated 2021-04-03 19:43:45-04 KALAMAZOO, Mich. â Kalamazoo Public Safety responded to a structure fire on Stockbridge Avenue today. KDPS says a vehicle sitting in a driveway had caught fire, at which the flames then spread to the building. Weâre told officers were able to evacuate the buildingâs occupants while the fire was being suppressed. Minor injuries from smoke inhalation were reported. The fire remains under investigation. (KPS) reported RM1.1bil revenue for its fiscal 2020, setting a new financial milestone by surpassing the RM1bil revenue mark for the group’s performance. For the quarter ended Dec 31,2020, the group posted revenue of RM318.6mil, higher than the pre-Covid-19 revenue it recorded in the corresponding quarter the year before of RM297.2mil. The steady revenue growth during a period of uncertainty when the pandemic’s impact was still elevated was a show of the group’s success in balancing the tactical decisions needed to build operational and financial resilience while staying focused on its long-term strategic goals. Kalamazoo Schools Will Be Lone District in County To Stay Remote The Kalamazoo Public Schools District has decided to finish the current 2020-2021 school year with remote learning in place for the third and final semester of the year. Trimester 3 begins on March 15 and ends June 11, the last day of school. The announcement was made by Kalamazoo Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Rita Raichoudhuri during the Feb. 11 Board of Education meeting. “To ensure that we were methodical about our decision around transitioning to Trimester 3, we again used the weighted formula created in October before the Trimester 2 announcement. The weighted formula prioritized safety above all else. We surveyed parents and employees and reviewed research and health department data. The results of the formula indicated five of the nine points supported remaining fully virtual.
