Press Release – Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Junichiro Ikeda) and Ship Data Center Co., Ltd. (ShipDC; President: Yasuhiro Ikeda) have agreed to share the data of about 180 MOL’s ships in operation targeted for MOL’s “FOCUS Project” 1 through IoS Open Platform (IoS-OP) 2, the ship IoT data sharing platform promoted by ShipDC.
MOL had so far stored operation data collected from several vessels to IoS-OP, and has agreed to expand the sharing to about 180 ships in operation. This data sharing will significantly increase the amount of ship operation data transferred in IoS-OP, and will enable the stakeholders to utilize the data shared in IoS-OP to enhance their corporate value through the pursuit of ship safety and economic efficiency, environmental initiatives, and the creation of innovations in the maritime industry to strengthen international competitiveness.

“K” LINE to Expand Sharing Of Ship Operation Data To Enhance Utilization Of Big Data In The Maritime Industry
Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” LINE) and Ship Data Center Co., Ltd. (ShipDC) have agreed to share operation data of all “K” LINE fleet equipped with “Kawasaki Integrated Maritime Solutions” 1 through IoS Open Platform (IoS-OP) 2, the ship IoT data sharing platform promoted by ShipDC.
“K” LINE had so far stored operation data collected from several vessels equipped with Kawasaki Integrated Maritime Solutions to IoS-OP, and has now agreed to expand the sharing for all its owned fleet of about 140 vessels.

NYK to Expand the Number of Ships Sharing Data via ShipDC’s IoS-OP
Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) and Ship Data Center Co., Ltd. (ShipDC) have agreed to use the latter’s IoS-OP to share data received from all NYK-operated vessels equipped with SIMS, expanding the total to about 200 NYK vessels.
Up until now, NYK had used ShipDC’s IoS-OP to share shipping data from some vessels equipped with SIMS, but the new agreement expands the data-sharing to all SIMS-equipped vessels within the NYK fleet.
This agreement will dramatically increase the amount of data being transferred via the IoS-OP and makes it possible to increase corporate value by utilizing the data for ship safety, economic pursuits, environmental efforts, and innovation within the shipping industry to enhance international competitiveness.
