Speedway Motors 1970 Chevy Camaro Mixes The Old With The New

Sponsored Links About five years ago, the folks over at online performance parts shop Speedway Motors purchased a”slightly crusty and barely running” blue 1970 Chevy Camaro with the intention of turning it into a high-performance restomod. The main purpose of this car would be to develop and promote its new second-gen F-body G-Comp front and rear suspension systems, but the car has since become a catch-all engineering test mule for the company, serving as a rolling testbed for the different F-body parts and components that it sells. In a recent blog post, Speedway Motors provided a little more information and background on its 1970 Chevy Camaro, which it describes as a “race car with a license plate that has seen almost constant updates and evolution since it first hit the track.” As it sits today, the blue Camaro boasts G-Comp Unser Edition front and rear suspension, a 7.0L LS7 V8 engine with Speedway Motors heads and a modified Tremec TKO 600 five-speed manual transmissio

1949 Chevy 3100 Five Window Pickup Headed To Auction Block

Sponsored Links Without a doubt, restomods are one of the hottest commodities in the collector car world right now. Taking old cars and making them into more comfortable, more drivable vehicles has become all the rage. However, for purists, a good old-fashioned affordable hot rod is tough to beat. That is the appeal of our feature truck, a 1949 Chevy 3100 Five Window pickup. This Chevy 3100 started with the original steel body. Many of you have been asking about the status of the 2021 HOT ROD Power Tour. We will have an announcement in a few weeks right here on hotrod.com. The success and the history of this event is pretty amazing. Approximately 200 ambitious participants showed up to for the event in the summer of 95. The Power Tour s only objective that first year was to get those cars from Los Angeles to the HOT ROD Power Festival in Norwalk, Ohio. At less than $20 per horsepower! It s no secret that the automotive world is currently in the throes of a power battle, with manufacturers constantly trying to flex their muscles. We ve become so used to big numbers from cars such as the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, which belts out up to 797 horsepower, and high-horsepower cars have never been more accessible, with a large number of street cats sporting over a thousand horses. To make it even easier to turn your Chevy Colorado into a quarter-mile savage, though, Nelson Racing Engines will sell you a turnkey 1,500-horsepower LS V8 engine. This is the very same company that produced a similar power plant that powered the SSC Tuatara in its controversial top-speed run late last year before it set a genuine record this year.
