Fatal crash near Smoky Hills Weapons Range The Salina Journal The Kansas National Guard community is mourning this week after one of its own died in a crash Tuesday. The Saline County Sheriff’s Office was notified at 2:18 p.m. Tuesday of an accident near the Smoky Hills Weapons Range in the 9000 block of West Parsons Road. Three members of the Kansas National Guard 184th Wing were driving in a Humvee when the vehicle left the road, rolled over and landed on its roof. All inside the vehicle were ejected. The driver, a 23-year-old male from Salina, and the front passenger, a 28-year-old male from Topeka, were both transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center for significant injuries. ....
US President, Joe Biden, met with six immigrants on May 14 as part of his plans for a US immigration overhaul. The six immigrants were brought to the US illegally and have benefitted from the Obama-era, Deferred Action for Child Arrivals (DACA) program, which protects them from deportation from the US.
As a presidential candidate, Biden vowed to protect those people, often described as ‘Dreamers’ and their families by reinstating the Obama-era policy. Biden’s meeting with the six immigrants came as he seeks to push Congress to pass legislation that would codify DACA, which former US President Barack Obama instituted by executive order in 2012. ....
