[FILES] YouthsThe second quarterly meeting of the Nigeria Inter-religious Council (NIREC) held on May 19, 2021 at Reiz Continental Hotel, Abuja with the theme: “Ethnic, Religious And Political Profiling Is Avoidable.” This theme was chosen because of the incessant attacks and unrest in Nigeria. NIREC is a council jointly owned by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA). NIREC with different committees to assist government at all levels to promote peaceful co-existence, security, unity, wellbeing and the common good of the Nigerian citizens. Neither Christians nor Muslims can effectively reconcile the differences and divisions in Nigeria hence both in the form of dialogue of social engagements seek to unite and reconcile the religious, ethnic and political pluralism of the nation. ....
TODAY March 15, 2021 A Muslim group, Jammaatul Tajjadid Islamy (JTI), has taken legal actions against the Kano State Government and the State Commissioner of Police, seeking the immediate prosecution of the controversial Sheik Abduljabar Nasiru Kabara. Sheik Kabara is accused of an alleged blasphemy against the Prophet Mohammed. According to the application order filed by the Islamic sect, the sect wants the court to slam the order of the Mandamus on Kano Attorney General, Barrister M. A Lawan, and the State Police Commissioner, Samaila Dikko, to immediately arrest and prosecute Sheik Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara. The Islamic sect argued that the enormity of the allegations against Sheik Kabara is beyond Kano State Government to decide his fate alone. ....
