Synergy North Encourages Customers To Go Paperless

Synergy North is asking its customers in Kenora and Thunder Bay to go paperless.
Starting this month, the utility will donate five dollars to the Canadian Mental Health Association in Kenora and Thunder Bay for every customer who opts to have their bill sent electronically.
President Rob Mace says this partnership is the continuation of an ongoing campaign that supports a variety of non-profit organizations in the region.
The campaign comes during Mental Health Awareness Week.
Synergy North says customers can register by going online to their website at synergynorth.ca or calling them directly at 1-833-428-1451.

CMHA Adds Second Mobile Crisis Support Worker

The province has announced 244 thousand dollars for the Canadian Mental Health Association in Kenora to hire an extra person to ride along with the OPP for mental health calls.
Sara Dias is executive director of the CMHA and says this will add a second mobile crisis and support worker to their team.
“We do have a month worth of statistics already that we will be able to share as more of a briefing note”, explains Dias.
“Really what this is demonstrating is the diversion crisis cases to the emergency department as well as individuals accessing mental health services in their homes.” ....
