Our mother Helen Victoria Weeks-Nichols was born on June 4, 1919, in Houstonville, to Albert and Estelle Weeks. She lived most of her life happily in the picturesque city of Fairhope, Alabama. She was a devoted wife for 50 years to her husband Douglas Leo Nichols and a wonderful mother of five children. “Mama” or “Mama Helen” as many aﬀectionately called her, was not afraid of hard work and could do just about anything from gardening to baking and so much more. One of her many talents was sewing and many are recipients of the clothes, wedding dresses, and Raggedy Ann and Andy Dolls. Mama always loved to read and her favorite book was the Bible. Early into her marriage she studied the Bible with one of Jehovah s Witnesses and was thoroughly excited to find the answers to many questions she had wondered about for years. Doug Crane, who drew Spider-Man, She-Ra and He-Man cartoons and worked on films including

Beavis and Butt-Head Do America during his six-decade career in animation, has died. He was 85. Crane died Thursday after a short battle with cancer, his daughter Rose-Ellen reported. His wife of 61 years, Maureen, an inker/painter whom he had met at Terrytoons in 1956 on his and her first day there, died two days earlier.
A Clio Award recipient, Crane also worked for Hanna-Barbera, Paramount, MTV, Filmation, Oriolo Films and Zander Animation Parlour and served as a professor of animation at his alma mater, the School of Visual Arts, for 15 years. His credits also included the features ....

Doug Crane, Renowned East Coast Animator, Dies At 85
Last week, we published a tribute to the industry figures who passed away this year. But it turns out 2020 wasn’t quite done dispensing bad news. Another great talent has since left us: Doug Crane, animator and pillar of the East Coast industry, died from cancer on Thursday, his daughter Rose-Ellen announced on Facebook. He was 85.
In the course of his epic career, Crane worked in series, commercials, and features, lending them his considerable talents as an animator, but also in storyboarding, layout, backgrounds, and character design. His credits include
