Avedis recognizes, honors Pottawatomie County first responders for service

This week the Avedis Foundation released a proclamation of recognition for Pottawatomie County’s first responders.
The organization’s statement acknowledged the work of law enforcement personnel, firefighters, emergency operators and dispatchers, emergency medical technicians, search and rescue personnel, and those who put others first to protect the community amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our community’s first responders deserve our collective gratitude for their commitment to the life-saving work they do every day, even when doing the job puts them at risk,” Avedis Foundation Board Chair Mark Finley said.
As well as making an official statement to honor first responders, Avedis also is giving them meal tickets and goodie boxes in a gesture of honor for their service. ....

Avedis awards $71K to COCAA to assist Shawnee nonprofits in grant-writing

Central Oklahoma Community Action Agency (COCAA) has just received a grant for $70,890.28 from the Avedis Foundation to assist local nonprofits with research, preparation and submission of writing grant applications.
The grant-writing partnerships aid local nonprofits in establishing and enhancing programs that impact their missions and ultimately leverage multiple funding resources.
Community Grant Writer Sara Dame works closely with partner agencies, ensuring organizational readiness and understanding of grant-related requests and requirements, and also assists in the development of grant-related policies and provides technical assistance, as needed.
She introduces organizations to additional revenue sources and builds relationships to establish committed funding. ....

Avedis Foundation, in Shawnee, awards $500K grant to Community Renewal of Pott. County

The Avedis Foundation has doled out another $500,000 in grant funding this week; its latest recipient is Community Renewal of Pottawatomie County. Avedis also awarded $500,000 to Gateway to Prevention and Recovery.
The funds for Community Renewal will be used to continue its mission of restoring community through intentional relationships.
“The Avedis Foundation is committed to the vision of Community Renewal,” Avedis Foundation President and CEO Dr. Kathy Laster said.
Its ability to network with so many is powerful, she said.
“The evidence of their work is accomplished by building relationships and nurturing neighbors one block and one child at a time,” Laster said. “We are thankful that (Community Renewal Executive Director Brandon Dyer), his faithful staff, and board of directors are dedicated to creating a safe, connected and caring community.” ....

Shawnee's Gateway to Prevention and Recovery receives $500K grant from Avedis Foundation

The Avedis Foundation has awarded a $500,000 grant to Gateway to Prevention and Recovery, Inc., a local nonprofit that serves the community and families affected by substance abuse and mental health disorders.
“The Avedis Foundation is honored to provide this grant to Gateway’s Expect Hope campaign,” Avedis President and CEO Dr. Kathy Laster, said. “By supporting their mission to provide community-based behavioral health services to individuals and families, Gateway will be able to not only continue providing critical services, but will also be able to expand and develop existing credible programs.”
