Tokyo: Qatar Chair for Islamic Area Studies was inaugurated at Waseda University in Japan, which comes in implementation of the directives of the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to enhance cooperation and scientific, academic, and research exchange with Japan.
This came during the participation of Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan HE Hassan bin Mohammed Rafi Al Emadi in the inauguration ceremony of the chair, which was held via videoconferencing.
In a speech, the Ambassador said that the chair will remain a symbol of friendship and cooperation between the two friendly countries, noting that the timing of the inauguration of the Chair is of special importance, as it coincides with the ongoing efforts in the two countries to strengthen and diversify relations coinciding with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomat ....

Doha: The Ambassador of Japan to Qatar, H E Kazuo Sunaga, has hailed the 50 years of diplomatic relationship between the two countries as bold and fruitful.
“As part of the celebrations both the countries are planning a number of cultural events and due to the coronovirus pandemic we cannot announce the programmes for now,” the Ambassador said during a press meet held in connection with the National Day, at his residence yesterday.
The Ambassador said that one of the most important events taking place during this 50th anniversary will be the inauguration of a Qatar Chair at the University of Waseda in Tokyo in May this year. ....
