Three Women Jailed In UK On Drug Charges January 10, 2021 Three women – Catara Mattie, Shantori Daniels, and Shaliquah Talbot have been jailed in the UK for attempting to smuggle around £50,000 [$67,840] worth of cocaine. A statement from the UK National Crime Agency said, “Three drug couriers who attempted to smuggle cocaine worth around £50,000 into the UK on the same flight into Gatwick have been jailed. “National Crime Agency officers began an investigation after Catara Mattie, 20, from Eccles in Greater Manchester, Shantori Daniels, 23, and Shaliquah Talbot, 27, both from Birmingham, arrived into the airport on 11 November 2020 having flown from Kingston, Jamaica. “When searched by Border Force officers all three were found to have internal concealments of cocaine. The total weight of the packages was just under a kilo. ....

(From left) Shantori Daniels, Shaliquah Talbot and Catara Mattie. Three British women have been convicted for attempting to smuggle cocaine worth £50,000 from Jamaica into the United Kingdom. Twenty-year-old Catara Mattie of Eccles in Greater Manchester; and 23-year-old Shantori Daniels and Shaliquah Talbot, 27, both from Birmingham, pleaded guilty to importing Class A drugs. On Thursday, Talbot was sentenced to 32 months in prison when she appeared before the Lewes Crown Court. Previously, Daniels was convicted and sentenced to 32 months in jail, while Mattie was imprisoned for three years following a hearing at the same court on December 9 of last year. According to a statement on the UK s National Crime Agency (NCA) website, the three women were on the same flight from Kingston, Jamaica that arrived at the Gatwick Airport on November 11, 2020. ....
