Online glass art presentation takes shape with noted Salem Community College alumnus Updated Jan 07, 2021; Posted Jan 07, 2021 Salem Community College alumnus Paul J. Stankard will present Flameworked Treasures: Celebrating Flameworked Glass online 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13.Salem Community College Facebook Share The free streaming will be hosted by the college’s Glass Education Center. Stankard will discuss his work and process, as well as cite other contemporary artists he believes are making “significant work utilizing the flameworking process.” The presentation will conclude with questions from the viewing audience. Stankard, whose paperweight artwork is represented in more than 60 museums around the world, enrolled in the what-was-then-named Salem County Vocational Technical Institute’s scientific glassblowing program in 1961.
