Amid fear arising from land dispute Police in Ganta on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 nabbed a 29-year old man with about 20 pieces short single barrel guns and over 125 pieces of ammunitions at the Ganta Border amid fear of violence emanating from land dispute between the Suah family on the one hand and the Jabeteh, Donzoe and Sanoe families on the other hand. Inspector Adolphus Zuah of Ganta Detail told reporters that, the man identified as Layee Zayzay entered the country with 20 pieces of single barrel gun, five packs of rounds which contained 124 pieces of round sealed up in a traveling bag with a few pieces of clothes under the pretext that the bag contains only clothes. ....
For Christmas Holiday Officers of the Liberia National Police, Ganta Detail on Friday, December 25, 2020, held what was described as its first ‘candy’ program for kids, who normally trek the streets on holidays in search of a recreation center for entertainment. According to Sgt. Jenkins N. Mangou, the head of the Women and Children Protection Unit, who is a coordinator of the Community Service Section (CSS), the program aims to keep kids from roaming the streets and also keep them from danger or harm during the holiday. “We decided to have this program in order to keep our kids in one place so as to avoid them from getting trapped from the hands of criminals and also keep them away from danger,” Patrolman Jacob Wonpoe of the CSS said in an overview. ....
