With the need for Guyana to become an Information Technology hub with more businesses and development as a result of the oil and gas sector, the Schlumberger company today donated 100 computers to the non-governmental group Computers for Guyana, in support of the group’s efforts to provide computers to those in need and people who are looking to develop themselves in a new field.
Aggrey Marsh, head of computing for Guyana, spoke to News Source during the handover ceremony and explained that the initiative to provide computers to those in need, especially in single-parent families, was born in a social media post that is quickly bearing fruit. ....
