SAN ANGELO Home for Destany Ellis-Dearborn used to be an emergency shelter in Colorado. Then, at the age of 12, it became a series of beds one at an aunt s house and another with a grandparent, bouncing from relative to relative until Destany began living with a group of six other girls in the Texas foster care system.
It s been five years, but the word home has at last taken on a new and more familiar more permanent meaning.
On Tuesday, July 6, 2021, Kristin Ellis-Dearborn and Stephanie Ellis-Dearborn became Destany s mother and mother, officially adopting the 17-year-old into their family after spending ten months as Destany s foster parents. ....

Brenda Kay Young was born January 24, 1953 to LC Sharp and Para Sharp. She was reunited with her Savior on Thursday, February 18, 2021, the same day her mother passed. She graduated from Central High School and attended Angelo State University.
She married the love of her life, Burk Young, and they celebrated 46 years of marriage in 2020. Kay ran Allen Young Office Machines for many years with her husband. Together they had 2 beautiful daughters; Robin Young Tijerina and Heather Young.
Kay was a very caring, giving and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter. Her passion was her family and she selflessly gave her time and love to her family and friends. She celebrated every person on every occasion with love and kindness. It was in her heart to instill love and faith, and she taught us all to celebrate and cherish one another every day. Kay’s joy were her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “MaK.” Nothing coul ....

Grover W “Chip” Lightfoot III passed away on December 9. 2020. He was born on November 10, 1950, to Grover Jr. and Mabel (Brown) Lightfoot. He grew up in San Angelo, graduating from Central High School in 1968. He attended University of North Texas and later graduated from Angelo State University in 1979 with a degree in Computer Science. He met Carol Gully at ASU in the punch card room, and they married on August 1, 1980. He worked for GTE and then Verizon until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, his son Will Lightfoot and wife Amy, and his daughter Erin Reisner and husband Damian as well as three grandchildren, Liam and Amelia Lightfoot and Aidan Reisner. He is survived by his closest cousin Sally Roach. He is survived by brothers-in-law Allen, Kenny, and Gene Gully and sister-in-law Elaine Beach and their families. He is preceded in death by his parents. ....
