Man injured in Burton commercial building fire

BURTON, MI One man was injured in a commercial fire in Burton Sunday evening, officials said.
The Burton Fire Department responded to a commercial structure fire shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31 at 5506 Lapeer Road.
The fire started in one unit of a three-unit building, Burton Fire Chief Kirk Wilkinson said. The unit was being used for storage.
The fire was isolated to the unit where it started. However, the building’s middle unit, a tax and accounting service firm, still sustained moderate smoke and water damage.
The owner of the unit was in the building at the time of the fire and suffered burn injuries to his lower extremities, Wilkinson said. ....
