Georgia Ex-Cop Facing Charges After His Former Department Reported Him to FBI When He Bragged About His Involvement In Capitol Riot A Georgia man who reportedly is an ex-cop bragged on social media about participating in the violent Capitol riot on Jan. 6 was turned in to authorities by his own former police department. Authorities say 58-year-old Michael Shane Daughtry who was described by Pelham Mayor James Eubanks to local station WCTV as a briefly tenured member of the small town’s police force before being fired over social media issues last year claimed he was “one of the first ones over the fence” when a mob of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol building earlier this month. ....

Hall [email protected] Jan 19, 2021 Jan 19, 2021 WASHINGTON, D.C. â Two South Georgia men are among more than 125 people across the country who have been charged in connection with the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. Law enforcement was drawn to Michael Shane Daughtry and William McCall Calhoun Jr. due to their social media posts. Daughtry, 58, was identified as being from Pelham by the U.S. Attorneyâs Office in Macon, but he was identified as being from Baker County in the FBI affidavit that led to his arrest warrants. He is charged with entering a restricted building or grounds, a misdemeanor. He had his initial court appearance Friday, Jan. 15, and was released on bond with conditions, including internet restrictions. ....
