Suspect Leads State Troopers on Tri-County Chase
A Moundville man was arrested after leading law enforcement on a chase that spanned multiple counties in West Alabama.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says highway patrol officers initiated a traffic stop on a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 36-year-old Dennis Clay Sagely. ALEA says Sagely was observed following another vehicle too closely on Highway 69 South at approximately 3:48 p.m. on Friday, January 8th near mile marker 137.
Sagely refused to stop and continued north on Highway 69 towards Interstate 59/20, leading enforcement agencies through Tuscaloosa, Greene, and Pickens counties. BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) apprehended a Moundville man after a pursuit ends in Greene County.
The suspect is identified as 36-year-old Dennis Clay Sagely.
According to ALEA reports, at approximately 3:48 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado on Alabama 69 near the 137 mile marker. The driver, Sagely, refused to stop and continued north on Alabama 69 to Interstate 59.
Sagely led Troopers through Tuscaloosa, Greene, and Pickens counties before being stopped and apprehended in Greene County at the intersection of Alabama 14 and Interstate 59.
