A man who admitted running over five geese in the parking lot of a Toms River shopping center in 2019 will not see the inside of a jail cell, authorities said.
Quintin Alec-Manning, 22 of Brick Township, who pleaded guilty on March 15 to animal cruelty, was sentenced Wednesday to two years of probation and ten days of community service, despite prosecutors arguing for him to serve 90 days in the Ocean County Jail, according to a statement from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
Ocean County Superior Court Judge Guy P. Ryan also barred Alec-Manning from owning or working with animals during the term of his probation, the office said.
