Tyvak Nano-Satellite Systems has named retired
U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Christian “Boris” Becker as its new CEO. Tyvak is a Terran Orbital company that manufactures nanosatellite platforms.
Becker most recently served as the chief executive of the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR), where he led an 11,000-person organization responsible for the design, delivery and supporting logistics of the U.S. Navy’s global satellite and communications networks. He has also held leadership positions supporting the
Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), the
Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) and the
National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).
Terran Orbital CEO Marc Bell commented in the Wednesday release that Becker deeply understands the company’s customer base and brings valuable background in U.S. defense and intelligence requirements.

When Dwight Eisenhower assumed command of Allied forces in Europe in early 1943, he faced a daunting task. Not only did he need to prepare to assault the vaunted Germany army, but he faced a complicated set of command relationships. His three subordinates, Harold Alexander, Arthur Tedder, and Andrew Cunningham, were all British officers. Two of the three were from different services. Moreover, they all outranked him!
