As many as 1,175 people have died due to Covid-19 in the KE ward that comprises Andheri East, Jogeshwari East and Vile-Parle East. The death toll in the city is 15,451.
The KW ward also tops in the number of Covid cases in the city, with 53,609 cases of the total.7.22 lakh Covid cases in the city.

Mumbai: Booking a vaccination slot on the CoWin portal has now become the biggest task for beneficiaries ready and willing to take their first shot of the Covid-19 vaccine. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, every day, slot booking opens at 7.30pm in the evening for all beneficiaries, only to close in the next five minutes, as the fastest fingers seem to bag the coveted spots in that time. This is the story of many beneficiaries in the 18-44 years category. They have been trying to do so from Day 1 without any luck. However, those beneficiaries due for their second dose can walk in to the vaccine centres for the purpose. Mumbai: A few weeks ago global Scientists, epidemiologists and the international media were at pains to explain India’s mysteriously sharp decline in Covid 19 cases and deaths after September. Even though there has been a surge since mid-Feb, with an overall death rate of 112 per million people, we can confidently claim that we have fared far better than Europe and North America during this Pandemic.
