CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â North Beach residents are no stranger to flooding due to high tides and rain. That s why the city of Corpus Christi has chosen to allot $5 million towards better drainage on North Beach through the American Rescue Plan Act.
Bob Catalano, who owns beach houses on North Beach, said heâs constantly having to drive through flooded streets and so are his renters. He said the standing water causes pot holes on the streets, which doesnât make it safe for him or his renters to drive on. ....

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas It appears a couple of restroom facilities at Surfside Park on North Beach that have long been an eye sore are finally coming down.
Tuesday, city manager Peter Zanoni unveiled plans that would demolish the structures. The $2.5 million project is funded by the voter approved 2020 Bond Program.
Bob Catalano told 3 News he has waited a longtime to see the city take action on improving Surfside Park.

She said the backyards of some homes along the beachfront on Lorikeet Dr in south Peregian were also in the low risk category.
The report underlines the high cost of replacing existing public infrastructure such as the picnic area, skate park and parking areas should they be damaged as a result of coastal erosion, Ms Kroon said.
Community feedback indicates that non-intrusive solutions, such as dune rehabilitation and mitigation, is the preferred course of action.
Ms Kroon said rock sea walls were very much a last resort .
