HALL COUNTY, GA Makita U.S.A., Inc. held a ceremonial groundbreaking April 20 to launch construction of a new 600,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility northeast of Atlanta in Hall County, GA.
The new facility will be constructed on 80 acres of land and is part of Makita’s planned future development to address continuing growth in the United States. “Today Makita begins a new phase of expansion with the construction of another new facility,” said Joe Blackwell, senior vice president operations, Makita U.S.A. “This is part of our continuing growth here in the U.S.A., and this new facility will further increase our operations, service, and training capabilities. This means expanded service and support for our customers, while creating more jobs in the region.”

Makita U.S.A. hasn’t formally pinpointed its new Flowery Branch location, but Hall County records may have solved the mystery.
Tax records show that the California-based, high-end power tool maker has bought 94 acres off Falcon Parkway in the South Hall city. The $7.8 million sale was done in three different transactions involving two parcels one that is 80 acres and one that is 14 acres, according to the records.

Makita USA Inc. provided few details on the land’s specific purpose, noting only that the site is “the target for planned future development to address continuing growth in the United States.”
Makita’s tools include what the company calls the largest lithium-ion battery system in the world a slide-battery platform where various tools share the same power mechanism. The company said the reach of this system continues to grow with the addition of outdoor power equipment and more.
