Music Festival planned for Paris Hill Share Lenny Hatch plays the congas while playing with Primo Cubano. A two-night music festival is planned for Aug. 6 and 7 at the Paris Hill Country Club at 455 Paris Hill Road. in South Paris. Show starts at 5 p.m.; rain or shine. The family friendly outdoor benefit concert will feature live music and food. Adult and non-alcoholic beverages also will be available. Bring your own chair. Now in its fourth year, this two-night summer event kicks off at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 6 with WOXO Radio’s, Heidi Adam as Master of Ceremonies. Attendees soon will be dancing in the aisles to the Latin stylings of opening act, Primo Cubano. Using traditional instruments and singing call and response and three-part harmonies in Spanish, Primo Cubano captures the authentic feel of Cuba’s vibrant music scene dating back to the turn of the 20th century. Gregory Rec/Staff Photographer Maine’s two largest summer music theaters are taking different approaches to presenting live theater in their second seasons during the pandemic, but, like last year, neither will produce large-scale musicals on their longtime stages. The Ogunquit Playhouse has constructed a massive covered outdoor pavilion on the pastoral playhouse lawn, where it will produce four Broadway-style musicals with seating for 450 people. Maine State Music Theatre in Brunswick will produce a concert series, children’s productions and other events in its traditional home at Pickard Theater on the Bowdoin College campus, but is moving its signature mainstage productions to the Westbrook Performing Arts Center and presenting those shows in September and October. ....

This season will mark the first time Maine State has produced its mainstage musicals outside of Brunswick and only the second time off-campus.
