May 16, 2021 Missions Baseball The Missions ended their four-game losing streak Saturday night with a 6-2 win against the RockHounds. The team benefitted from two three-run innings and a solid performance from starting pitcher Reiss Knehr. Throughout the early part of this season, the Missions have driven in nearly half of their runs with two outs. Saturday night was no different. San Antonio jumped on Midland in the 2nd inning by scoring three runs with two outs. Eguy Rosario started the two-out rally with an RBI single and then Jack Suwinski finished it off with a two-run single. The Missions took a 3-0 lead. ....

The Missions scored their first run in the seventh inning and had only two hits through eight innings. The RockHounds came out of the gates strong Wednesday night and forced the Missions into their bullpen early. Midland scored a run in the first inning on an RBI triple from Jonah Bride. The following inning was when starting pitcher Caleb Boushley ran into some trouble. The RockHounds scored three runs on eight hits in the second inning. May 10, 2021 Missions Baseball Jack Suwinski’s go ahead two-run home run in the eighth inning sealed the deal for the Missions in a 7-5 victory on Mother’s Day. After trailing 5-1, the Missions came back to clinch the series victory and improve to 4-2 on the season. The Missions had a chance to score in the top of the second inning. Following a single and a catcher’s interference, San Antonio had two runners on with one out. However, back-to-back strikeouts would kill the rally. In the top of the third inning, the Missions found themselves with another scoring opportunity and would not spoil it. With two outs and runners on the corners, Kyle Overstreet singled into left field to give the Missions a 1-0 lead. ....
