Bhubaneshwar: Amid rising cases of coronavirus COVID-19, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha on Wednesday (April 21) decided to cancel the class 10th board exams for 2021 across all schools in the state, according to the state Education Ministry. It further said that the results of Class 10 students to be prepared by the Board on basis of objective criteria.

BHUBANESWAR: The plus-II board exams will begin on May 18 and end on June 12, the government announced on Wednesday, while exams for vocational stream will start from May 28.
The exams, conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), will be held following Covid protocols. “Usually the exam begins with the English paper, but this year science students will appear in physics first in the wake of various national level entrance examinations,” school and mass education minister Samir Ranjan Dash said. The students of humanities and commerce will continue to sit for the English exam, Dash added.

Keeping in view adverse impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the livelihood of the people across Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday announced that the state government will not charge any fee from students appearing in the Matric examination.
Patnaik decided to waive the fees for the annual examination, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, in the greater interest of the students. The matriculation exam is scheduled to begin in the state from May 3 this year.
