Thomas was shot in the chest at about 1 AM in the 2600 block of S. 14th Street in Waco in October 2020. As officers arrived to the scene, they were able to locate Thomas. He was then transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
According to police, 18-year-old Pablo Villarreal was arrested this morning by the US Marshal Lone Star Task Force in Waco for a warrant charging him with murder.
Villareal is from the Waco area and was arrested during a traffic stop this morning.
Waco Police said although three arrests have been made in this case, the investigation is still ongoing and no other information is available at this time.

WACO, Texas (KWTX) – Members of the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Task Force arrested a Waco teenager early Thursday in connection with a shooting in October that left a local man dead.
Ocie Bernett, 18, was arrested at around 1 a.m. on a warrant charging murder that stems from the shooting death of Jatron Lavar Thomas.

WACO, Texas An 18-year-old man was arrested by the U.S. Marshal s Task Force Thursday morning in connection to a 2020 fatal shooting.
Waco police said Ocie Bernett was charged with the murder of Jatron Lavar Thomas.
Thomas was shot to death on Oct. 15 in the 2600 block of S. 14th St.
Police said they were also investigating two other people they consider suspects in the case.
Bernett was taken to the McLennan County Jail.
