Derek Riggs and Jake Myers were shot while trying to help a man who they thought was a stranded motorist on I-40 in Sequoyah County Saturday night, July 17.Riggs was shot multiple times in the torso and Myers was shot in the face. Both men are in critical, but stable condition and are expected to survive, but they face a long road to recovery.Family members told 40/29 News Riggs underwent a second surgery at Baptist Health in Fort Smith on Tuesday afternoon.According to his sisters, Jillian Myers and Jacquelyn Morton, who spoke to 40/29 News from a Little Rock hospital, Myers will require numerous surgeries. Updated: 1:50 PM CDT May 4, 2021 KOCO Staff Agents with the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation said they shut down a criminal marijuana growing operation Tuesday morning in Erick, Oklahoma.
