As of noon Tuesday, the Lane County voter turnout was 21.32%, with 58,032 ballots counted.
The first round of Lane County May 18 Special Election unofficial results were released a little after 8 p.m. Tuesday with 56,969 ballots counted in the first round.
The Register-Guard is updating results Tuesday night for the ballot measures and contested candidate races as they are released.

OAKRIDGE, Ore. The Oakridge School District announced Wednesday that high school principal Greg Chapman will resign at the end of the school year.
District officials said his resignation will be effective June 30, 2021. Chapman was the principal of Oakridge High School for five years.
The district said in a statement: His service to the Oakridge School District is appreciated. We wish Mr. Chapman well in his continued education and future endeavors. ....

Oakridge School District to Discuss Investigation Results of Superintendent

The investigation was initiated after an Oakridge parent petitioned for Superintendent Reta Doland’s removal due to accusations of poor staff working conditions and communication, as well as other offenses. But Investigator Rob Saxton determined the superintendent’s removal is not warranted.
During the last board meeting a parent asked why the board had not addressed the Oakridge Teacher’s Association’s vote of no confidence for the superintendent. The results of the vote taken in Dec. show that 90% of certified staff lack confidence in Doland’s leadership. ....

Investigation Into Oakridge Superintendent Reports Removal Is Not Warranted

An inquiry into the Oakridge School District Superintendent has been completed after community members petitioned for her removal. The investigator reports the superintendent’s removal is not warranted.
Oakridge parent Nicole Sulick filed a formal complaint in Dec. She claims Superintendent Reta Doland has not provided proper staff working conditions or maintained proper communication, as well as other offenses.

The investigation found that schools in the Oakridge School District have not held regular Site Council meetings over at least the past year. Investigator Rob Saxton said the district, superintendent, and school principals should immediately oversee the formation of a Site Council at each school. They are also advised to adopt and publish a calendar for meetings, and begin holding them no later than Feb. 19. ....
