Investigation leads to arrest of 10 for drug activity

Agents with the 7th Judicial Crime Task Force recently completed a lengthy investigation of illicit drug sales in Oak Ridge, according to a news release, by executing criminal capias warrants against 10 Oak Ridge residents after they were indicted by a Anderson County grand jury.
The charges against the individuals, who ranged in age from 26 to 63, included the manufacture/sale/delivery/possession of a controlled substance, criminal conspiracy, and possession with intent.
More arrests are anticipated in this investigation, the 7th Judicial Crime Task Force stated in the release.
During the arrests, agents reportedly secured a search warrant for a residence and recovered illicit narcotics and firearms.

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. Two people have been arrested after attempting to flee the scene of a crash in a stolen truck in Oak Ridge on July 26.
According to the Oak Ridge Police Department, officers attempted to stop the driver of the stolen pickup truck on South Illinois Avenues at Tulsa Road.
The driver fled and sped southward before crashing into another vehicle at the intersection of South Illinois Avenue at South Rutgers Avenue. Despite one of the tires blowing out on the truck, the driver continued driving on the remaining three tires toward Edgemoor Road.

The Oak Ridge Police Department is looking for information on a July 11 fire believed to be the work of an arsonist.
The ORPD made the announcement on its official Facebook page Wednesday, July 21.
The Oak Ridge Fire Department responded to the fire on 167 Waddell Circle for a residential structure fire in a quadplex.
“The fire was later determined to be purposefully set,” the post stated, adding the ORPD investigators responded to the scene to assist with the incident.
The ORPD stated there are several “persons of interest” already identified through the investigation. However, police are still requesting that anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist in identifying those responsible.
