OAK RIDGE, Tenn. Two people have been arrested after attempting to flee the scene of a crash in a stolen truck in Oak Ridge on July 26.
According to the Oak Ridge Police Department, officers attempted to stop the driver of the stolen pickup truck on South Illinois Avenues at Tulsa Road.

Workers are beginning to move the mound of soil between PetSmart and JCPenney in the Main Street Oak Ridge development, getting the site ready for construction of new stores.
“You may have seen that mound at Main Street is being deconstructed,” Ray Evans, city economic development consultant, told the Oak Ridge Industrial Development Board on Dec. 7, referring to that mound and saying it is the “first new efforts” toward the construction of new stores.
“Glad to see some activity. That dirt pile should be gone shortly,” he said.
As The Oak Ridger has reported, four of those five new stores are Five Below, Old Navy, Ross Dress for Less and HomeGoods.
