It’s been smooth sailing this weekend for the 119th annual Oakmont Yacht Club Regatta.
The three-day event is back along the banks of the Allegheny River this summer after being canceled last year because of the covid-19 related pandemic.
Dom Conte, board member and 2021 regatta organizer, said the regatta is the largest fundraiser for the private club.
“We do this for our members and basically to have fun,” Conte said. “We open it to the public on Saturday to try and get more members. We always welcome that.”
The club holds a place as one of the oldest inland yacht clubs in America.
