Date Time Continued search for clues in Russell Hill and Carol Clay disappearance Missing Person Squad detectives, with the assistance of specialist police, are today returning to the Wonnangatta area as part of their ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Russel Hill and Carol Clay. As a result of information obtained from previous searches, investigators will now focus their efforts back towards Wonnangatta, in particular along the Dargo High Plains Road, Cynthia Range Track ,Herne Spur Track and the Wonnangatta Track. Missing Persons Squad detectives are being assisted by the Air Wing, Drone Unit, Search and Rescue and Parks Victoria in conducting detailed searches of roadways, tracks, campgrounds, rivers and cliffs. ....

Police have found a new clue in their renewed search for a couple who vanished on a camping trip more than a year ago while they were having a secret affair as they declared somebody else is involved in the pair s baffling disappearance. Detectives uncovered two shovels as they were trawling through dense bushland at an incredibly remote location at Mount Hotham in the Victorian Alps about midday on Wednesday while desperately looking for signs of Russell Hill and Carol Clay. A year-long search for missing campers Russell Hill and Carol Clay has taken another turn with police moving their search to the Mount Hotham area. Missing Person Squad detectives and Search and Rescue officers will be scouring the area on the Great Alpine Road in Mount Hotham from 9am on Wednesday. Detectives are acting on information uncovered during the course of the investigation that has led them to this area and is believed to be of interest to the investigation, a Victoria Police statement read. Mr Hill and Ms Clay vanished on March 20 during a camping trip in the remote Wonnangatta Valley, 350km east of Melbourne. ....
