Advance comics pages bring a smile to my face (letter to the editor)

In this world we now live in, we sure can use a daily smile and laugh, or several of each.
I’d like to thank the Advance for providing many smiles and laughs each day with two pages of comics Monday through Saturday and six pages every Sunday. Spanning the gamut from traditional style to humor looking at today’s high-tech existence, there is something for nearly everyone to enjoy.
One correction though: “Nancy” has been written and drawn by Olivia Jaimes since early 2018. The “Sunday Advance” properly credits her. However, papers on Monday through Saturday still credit Guy and Brad Gilchrist. The strip is quite different since the changeover, different storyline, some different characters, as well as difference in attitude and artistic style. The last Gilchrist “Nancy” strip appeared in February 2018.
Every year, we gather some of our favorite creators to take our ‘Creators’ Year in Review’ survey. When thinking about this year, however, the usual questions didn’t seem to make as much sense. So, we’ve tweaked the questions a bit to better reflect what 2020 was truly like for all of us.
Profuse thank yous to the creators who took a few minutes to answer our questions. You’ll be seeing all five of their responses this week and next, as we continue our Holiday Season celebrations. Happy Holidays to all, and please stay safe!
