SINGAPORE, June 2 (Xinhua) Singapore s Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 31 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, including 24 locally transmitted and seven imported, bringing the total tally to 62,100.
Among the local cases, 19 were linked to previous cases.
On Wednesday, 42 more recovered patients were discharged from hospitals and community isolation facilities, bringing the total number of recoveries from the coronavirus epidemic to 61,523 in the Southeast Asian country.
There are currently 216 COVID-19 patients being treated in hospitals. Of them, two are in critical condition and held in the intensive care unit.
Meanwhile, 328 people who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19 are being isolated and cared for at community facilities. ....

KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 (Xinhua) Malaysia recorded its highest single-day death toll from COVID-19 on Wednesday after the pandemic claimed 126 more lives, bringing the total deaths to 2,993, according to the Health Ministry.
Health Ministry Director-General Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a press statement that the victims ranged from 26 to 98 years old, with the majority of them suffering from existing health complications.
Another 7,703 new COVID-19 infections were reported, of which two are imported and 7,701 are local transmissions, bringing the national total to 587,165.
Some 5,777 patients have been released after recovery, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 501,898 or 85.5 percent of all cases. ....

HANOI Vietnam reported 140 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, including 139 locally transmitted and one imported, raising the total tally to 7,572.

KUALA LUMPUR, May 31 (Xinhua) Malaysia on Monday reported 6,824 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total tally to 572,357.
Health Ministry Director-General Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a press statement that three of the new cases were imported and 6,821 were locally transmitted.
An additional 67 deaths from the coronavirus epidemic were reported, bringing the death toll to 2,796, showed the official data.
An additional 5,251 recovered patients were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries to 490,038 or 85.6 percent of all cases.
Of the currently 79,523 active cases, 851 are being held in intensive care with 422 of them in need of assisted breathing. ....
