Record Store Day 2021, The Blind Boys of Alabama and Bela Fleck have joined together on record for the first time to release a special 45RPM 7” to be released on Alabama-based label Single Lock Records.
On the A Side of this historic collaboration, The Blind Boys and Bela cover I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free , the Billy Taylor and Dick Dallas: a classic made famous by Nina Simone, which continues to be an anthem for the Civil Rights Movement. On the B Side, the artists bring See By Faith to a physical format for the first time. A bonus track from the Blind Boys acclaimed LP, Almost Home, See By Faith is a previously unreleased song written by Bob Dylan. ....

Cue the heartbreak, this week of dance-focused activities features on-demand screenings of the 1995 film version of Mark Morris’ ballet, set to the Purcell opera, about true and truly ill-fated love between a widowed queen and a shipwrecked prince, also featuring mischievous witches and a tragic death lamented by Cupid himself. The week also offers a live Q&A with Morris and filmmaker Barbara Willis Sweete, and “Dido Conversations” with Morris and artists involved in the ballet. You can channel your sad, inner Aeneas and learn some of the choreography from the ballet online with MMDG dancers on Feb. 10 and 13. ....
