University of Maryland Senior Named 2021 Gates Cambridge Scholar Share Article University of Maryland senior Veeraj Shah was awarded a 2021 Gates Cambridge Scholarship, which he plans to use toward a Ph.D. in public health and primary care at the University of Cambridge. Shah will graduate this May from UMD with dual degrees in biological sciences with a specialization in neurobiology and physiology and individual studies majoring in health policy and technology. Social distancing, mask wearing, and hand sanitizing took on a new urgency. Here at BU, COVID-19 forced the University to quickly adapt to a remote learning model immediately following spring break in March. A massive testing and contact tracing system implemented by the University this summer allowed students to return to campus for the fall semester for a combination of in-person and remote learning, dubbed Learn ....
Twitter Facebook As the BU community approaches a holiday season where the combination of rising COVID-19 numbers and family gatherings is likely to bring as much anxiety as good cheer, the University is hoping to ease some of that angst by making available, on a temporary basis, coronavirus tests for BU community members who are not ordinarily tested: regular full- and part-time faculty and staff and graduate students who are assigned to category 4. The tests, which are funded by the University, are available for those in category 4 at the University’s four asymptomatic collection sites during two time periods from Saturday, December 12, through Wednesday, December 23, and from Saturday, January 2, through Sunday, January 10 (family members of the BU community are not eligible for the testing).
